ONR - Courvoisier Punch Bowl

Online News Release for Courvoisier Punch Bowl with Alex James

Imagine a punch bowl so big you can boat across it! Well, that’s exactly what Courvoisier (the UK’s number one Cognac) is launching in London on Tuesday evening, 8th December – the Courvoisier Architectural Punch Bowl.

At the helm of this adventure is musician and Taste Consultant Alex James, who will be among the first to toast this incredible feat of engineering. He will be sampling the drink throughout the night to ensure it is top quality and packs a punch.

With the help of spectacular food architects Bompas & Parr, a whopping 4,000 litres of ‘The Emperor’s Shrub’ bespoke punch – including more than a tonne of Courvoisier’s world-class Exclusif cognac – will be poured into a room at 33 Portland Place in London.

That is enough to serve 25,000 people. Thirsty Londoners are invited to come to try the tipple and enjoy one of the largest cocktails ever created (from 8th to 10th December). They will even be able to boat across it on a raft!

But why boating and beverages? It follows in the footsteps of Admiral Edward Russell, who in 1694 created a punch bowl so large it served 6,000 people, took 2,500 lemons to make and was served by a small boy in a boat.
